RESEARCHING DIABETES

I was anxiously awaiting my sister's call last night. When I talked to my sister earlier in the week she told me that she was taking her daughter to the doctor's office on Friday to determine if she had diabetes. As it turns out she does. After the phone call I told her I would help her do some research at the library. She was looking for whatever diabetes advice I could give her. She's aware that nobody else in our family has any experience with it, but she knows I'm really good with research so I offered to help. The library is only a couple of blocks away so it's a nice walk for me. I'm thinking that maybe I can get some ideas from my co-workers too. They're also pretty well educated about health issues and I know at least one of them who also has diabetes so I think they would be able to offer some good diabetes advice. I think she's surprised by the news but is relieved that her daughter has an accurate diagnosis. She would obviously rather know and be well educated about it than pretend it's something they don't have to deal with.
